is a set of policy measures and daily practices which avoid the demand for energy, materials, land, water, and other natural resources, while delivering wellbeing for all within planetary boundaries.
Established in 2024, the World Sufficiency Lab (WSL) is a pioneering institution that provides decision-makers with rigorous, science-based insights into how sufficiency policies can address the urgent challenges of the 21st century, from climate disruption and biodiversity loss to social inequality.
WSL's mission is bold and catalytic: to spark a metamorphosis in policy thinking by placing sufficiency at the core of governance. Its vision is clear: a path to wellbeing for all within planetary boundaries, rooted in fairness, restraint, and ecological responsibility.
WSL's goal is to make Sufficiency First a guiding principle in the design of policies and governance systems worldwide.
